The Splashville Open Water Challenge is an open water swimming race that will be held in Hamilton Creek Park at Percy Priest Reservoir on May 13, 2017. This second annual event is the only open water swim here in Nashville, offering multiple distance lengths & race opportunities in a single day.
There should be something for everyone on race day with distances of 5k, 2.5k & 800m offered. Swimmers will be able to race in one of the longer distances and still pick up the short event as well. We'll have loads of safety personnel on the water & a great course that should make for some excellent swimming, both beginners and experienced athletes alike!

Location:
Hamilton Creek Park is located just a short drive from downtown Nashville on Percy Priest Lake. Sharing a home with Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina, the Music City BMX Association & Nashville Paddle Company, the Park is also home to miles of trails & great access points to Percy Priest.
The swim will be held in the cove by the BMX track, also near the mountain bike trailhead.

Eligibility:
Splashville Open Water Challenge events are open to all 2017 USMS registered swimmers 18 years or older on race day. One event membership is allowed, you may take care of that registration during your event entry process.
Rules:
Current 2017 U.S. Masters Swimming rules will govern this event.

An awesome collectible piece of swag is included with entry for the first 100 registered or those who register prior to May 1. Those who register after this date CANNOT be guaranteed this piece of history. Please keep this in mind when registering!
Timing:
Transponder chip and back-up timing provided by Scenic City Multisport
Note there is a fee for failing to return the transponder chip device.
Safety-Our Primary Concern:
Safety boats will monitor the entire course and medical personnel will be on-site. Swimmers must wear the swim cap provided, must have their race number on their arms, and must follow all announced safety rules without exception. Safety plan.
Time Limit:
Swimmers who cannot complete 5K in less than 3 hrs should NOT enter; swimmers on the course after the time limit will be stopped and listed as DNF in the results.
Water Temperature: 70-75 degree F (approximate)
Wetsuits & Age Groups:
18-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. in five year increments, as high as necessary for both men/women. Age determined as of December 31, 2017.
Wetsuits will be allowed this year, but will be separated into different categories for awards!
Awards:
The top overall Male & Female finishers & age group winners will all be given special commemorative awards. (Award structure may change pending registration.)
There will also be some great raffle prizes for all athletes!

Cancellation Policy:
If on the established date of the swim, weather or disaster necessitates cancellation there will be NO REFUNDS, but if present you will receive your swag!
Direction to race site:
Hamilton Creek Park, 2901 Bell Rd., Nashville, TN 37217
Go east from downtown Nashville on I-40
Take exit 219 (Stewarts Ferry Pike South)
Turn right at the top of the ramp and go South 3.3 miles on Bell Road,
Turn left at the Hamilton Creek Park sign (across from Ned Shelton Road).
Take the first turn on your right, follow that road straight down to the parking lots.
There will be volunteers in the parking lot assisting traffic.
The swim area will be directly in front of you at the water’s edge. There will be tents & such visible.
The bathhouse area will be the building past the parking area towards the water on the right.
There is a playground past the building to the right & a small number of picnic tables available throughout the area.
